Casting "The Odd Couple," Female Version, a comedy by Neil Simon. Synopsis: Unger and Madison are at it again! Florence Unger and Olive Madison, that is, in Neil Simon's hilarious contemporary comic classic: the female version of "The Odd Couple." Instead of the poker party that begins the original version, Ms. Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit. The Pidgeon sisters have been replaced by the two Constanzuela brothers. But the hilarity remains the same.

The Cast:

Note:  Age ranges are open, but all the women are old friends from high school and this will be considered when casting.

The Women

Florence Unger:  A life long housewife.  She is a compulsive cleaner/homemaker type who makes Martha Stewart pale by comparison.  Also, a hypochondriac.

Olive Madison:  A successful career woman.  She is wise-cracking and a total slob.

Mickey:  A New York Police Officer.  Compassionate towards Florence and tends to think in worst case scenarios.

Sylvie:  A compulsive smoker (stage cigarettes will be used) and probably sexually frustrated (Refers to her husband as “The Penguin”).  She seems especially irritated by Vera.

Renee:  A complainer who is on a losing streak with the men she has been dating.

Vera:  Nice, but not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

The Spanish Brothers

Manolo and Jesus Costazuela: Two brothers who recently have come to America.  They live in the building and go on a date with Olive and Florence.
